We’ve probably never met but I think I might know a little bit about you…
You’re a high-performer with great vision and a compelling drive to help your organisation succeed. Most people look at you and think you really have your act together so they rely heavily on your direction and guidance and often come to you for help and advice about what to do, how to do it and when to do it.
Most of the time you LOVE feeling wanted, needed and respected like this, yet recently you’ve been noticing that being the one that everyone comes running to is not nearly as fulfilling as it used to be and that you’re becoming more and more overwhelmed, frustrated and exhausted from the never-ending barrage of challenges and problems that you’re being asked to solve and fix.
And I’m not just talking about the kind of exhaustion that’s taken care of by a couple of days off, a few nights sleep or even a holiday somewhere sunny with cocktails by the pool, but the kind of DEEP exhaustion that comes from not only being ‘on’ all the time, but keeping up the facade that you’re not only handling it all just fine but that you’re ready, willing and able to take on even more.
